Brodie + Brown is looking for a cabinet maker and installer to take full lead in our millwork shop and all projects.
Our small custom Millwork shop produces custom cabinetry, and other decorative components. We use a variety of modern and traditional materials, including wood, mdf and melamine to create custom kitchen and bath cabinetry.
The Opportunity
Brodie + Brown is currently seeking a fulltime, experienced, and dynamic Millwork Installer / Cabinetmaker to have the ability to run their own millwork shop. The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented – ideally suited for individuals who like to take charge and are driven to build on current successes. Someone who is looking at working in his own shop with all the tools for optimal production.
Installer Responsibilities
Specifically, the role will be responsible for:
· Reading and interpreting drawings and plans.
· Pre-planning for the installation of custom design cabinetry
· Efficiently installing millwork
· Identifying issues or barriers to finishing the project on time and suggesting solutions
· Utilizing the machinery, equipment, and tools applicable to the trade
· Maintaining a safe and clean work environment at all times with the utmost respect for the customer’s property
· Receiving and unloading shipments of finished product as well as manually lifting custom millwork and cabinets up stairs and around site obstacles
· Perform other related duties as assigned – specifically, millwork projects when not performing installations
Cabinetmaker Responsibilities
· Reviewing plans and ensuring a thorough understanding of the project’s scope
· Planning and executing the work to fit the timelines required by the customer
· Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
· Tools will be supplied by the company.
Qualifications
· A minimum of 2 years installing and building cabinets would be considered an asset
· A minimum of 2 years demonstrated cabinetmaking experience
· Thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, tools, and equipment used when constructing and installing cabinets and millwork
· Must be able to work from rough sketches or technical information for installation and placement
· Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with an enthusiastic and positive personality
· Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to occasionally travel outside the Ottawa area.
Salary - $80,000-100,000 a year
